What do I write about a movie which has a storyline as simple as its name. " Love Actually" is infact a tale of number of love stories at different places, at different times, between people of different ages! It is the story of :
The Britains First man in love with the tea girl
A writer who falls for his Portuguese house-maid
The Best Man in love with the bride (Keira Knightley - the best part of the movie)
Little Sam helped in his love quest by his father
An ageing rock star struggling to make a come back
Office romance between secretary and her boss which struggles to unfurl
The porn movie body doubles who discover a "spiritual" relationship while going thru their acts
Though its not a all out comedy, some scenes are really hilarious, like the one in which the British PM takes on the US President who tries to flirt with his [beloved] tea girl, the greatness of Britain as described by the PM - “Land of Harry Potter and David Beckham” in the press conference
Its a sweet, slow, feel-good movie which makes us feel that love is all around us. Though the movie is paced very slowly it never gets you by yawning because of the huge star cast and the numerous stories which keep on panning one after another and keeps the interests going.
On the whole a movie very fit to have been produced in Bollywood but is worth all the money you pay. [ Must C]

Yup, it's an excellent movie, esp the stellar star cast is just amazing! It was actually recommended as a must watch amongst 30 must watch movies in an indiatimes articles! The other must watches ranged from God father, Forrest Gump to Mother India n DDLJ!

ReplyDeleteAgreed. It is a feel good movie and the british american cast makes for interesting dialogue. However, for matters of the heart that seem disasterously rear please get a hold of "Closer". Either you will like it or hate it.
